About This Treatment

At Blandy House we offer inconspicuous braces and expert detailed consultations for both adults and children to help you realise your dream of an attractive straight smile.

There are two different types of braces: fixed and removable.

Fixed Braces

Traditional fixed braces are placed on the outside surface of the teeth and are either silver metal or white ceramic. Teeth straightening no longer has to be synonymous with ‘metal mouths’ with our tooth-coloured braces. These types have clear ceramic brackets and tooth-coloured wires making these braces more discrete than their silver counterparts. Conventional fixed appliances have a sophisticated range of movement which allows for even the most severe irregularities to be corrected successfully and predictably with long term stability.

Conventional fixed braces remain the absolute gold standard when looking to produce the most efficient, aesthetic, predictable and safe results

Removable Braces

Removable braces are a series of bespoke, clear aligners that can be removed when eating and drinking. They are virtually undetectable due to their transparency. It is advisable that the aligners are worn for 22 hours a day and changed every few weeks.

Why Orthodontic Treatment

Orthodontic treatment is minimally invasive and has several advantages for your overall dental health beyond simply aligning the teeth. Treatment in adults’ aids in reducing dental decay as straighter teeth are easier to keep clean. Treatment also balances the forces exerted when chewing or talking and can facilitate restorative dentistry by creating space in the mouth for restorations such as implants. Beautiful straight teeth can reduce self-consciousness when smiling which can enhance overall self-confidence.
